Organizational History: Health Research Fund, Inc. was incorporated in 1936 for the primary purpose of conducting research in connection with medicine and public health. Incorporators of the organization, which was renamed the Health Research Fund, Inc. in 1937, were Thomas M. Rivers, John Torrey, Currier McEwen, Michael Heidelberger, and William H. Park.

Albert Einstein misplaced a $250 check from the Rockefeller-funded International Education Board in February 1924. Einstein thought he had placed the check in a book in the library at his home in Berlin, but it was never found. A replacement check was issued.
